I used to be a freelance writer, but now I concentrate on my blog and my book. I’m in the process of rewriting my personal transformation day book, Alchemy 365, and I’m actively shopping for an agent or a publisher.
I kept a diary when I was a teenager but laid writing aside when I got married. For twenty years my life was consumed by children and their activities and being a full-time homemaker.
In 2007 I started writing again. I enrolled in a freelance writing class and began to write for publication. It was 2008 before I seriously considered that I could actually be a writer. I’ve had a few articles published but have not freelanced for a while. My next big project will more than likely be a memoir.
I started keeping a daily journal in the 80′s and have accumulated over 40 journals and notebooks. My daily ritual is to write my thoughts, concerns, feelings, insights, experiences, and prayers in my journal. Every once in a while I will pull out a journal from a year or two ago and see the difference between where I was then and where I am now.
Being able to write about my personal healing journey and share it with others is a gift from the universe. My prayer and intention in writing is that my words will inspire my readers to grow into the fullness of who they are.
Some of the things I enjoy are: reading, writing, working crossword puzzles and cryptograms, motorcycle riding, spending time with my girlfriends, and quiet times by myself and with my husband. I also love sunrises and sunsets, nature, poetry, cooking, and organic gardening. Oh, and lest I forget there’s nothing as awesome as a good dirty martini in the afternoon.
My husband and I live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Though born in the flat lands of Louisiana, I feel at home in the mountains, like this is where I’m supposed to be.
I have two pets, a 6 month old black long-hair domestic cat named Merlin and a 4 month old silver long-hair domestic tabby named Mystic.
